NYCity can be pretty
Skriehma got a visitor from Germany yesterday that he went sight-seeing with today and Phèdre is on call again, so I had the apartment for myself to finally get rid of my sore throat and headache.
I decided to go grocery shopping this afternoon at around 6:30 pm, put the stuff in my backpack and since the weather was gorgeous as always I decided to walk into the sundown on 42nd Street. I really regretted not having my camera with me so I had no other place but memory to store some of the beautiful views you can have from 42nd at sundown. When I reached the Hudson River, I was surprised to see the aircraft carrier that skriehma and his friend set out to visit today. I had imagined it to be an active or at least could-be-active vessel but you could see, especially from the types of planes that were on there, that it's been a museum for a while.
I walked back on 46th and 44th Streets and they didn't even resemble 42nd. Dark, dirty and unhomely like any other sidestreet and alley around here.
