Getting to know our new home

After a night of switching the A/C on and off every two to three hours (shivering, sweating, repeat), skriehma and I both got up at around 6am local time - that was noon "our" time anyway. So we enjoyed our jetlag-bonus and were among the early risers on the streets - not that we'd be alone despite the early time in a city like New York. Our first stop was an internet-café, where we arranged for a cheap flatrate account to use with skriehma's laptop's 56k-modem. This is why we are now able to keep you informed from our lair between the sleezy dvd joints. After that we hit a nice "whole-foods"-placefor breakfast. It was small (according to me, not skriehma), but tasty.

Then we extorted $2200 out of an ATM. That probably made it mad because it gave us the cash in twenties. The money's for Nick.

After excellent Mexican take-out food, we took the infamous New York Subway to Lincoln Center, at the southern tip of Central Park. After crossing through half of it,we decided to cross back over to .. civilization ..and the shiny, air-conditioned cars of the New York subway.
