First Contact

Anxious to finally start working we couldn't sit on our hands any longer and had to check out our place of employment. So we took the D subway to the Bronx. The bronx is a nice part of New York, with a lot of gentle African-American people sitting or standing in the streets, engaged in rather monologous-seeming discussions. We did not really understand what they were about, but a person named "Motherfucker" seemed to play a big role. These nice people also seemed to have a tendency to halt in what they were doing and look at us with big eyes as we walked by. I assume that is the Bronx way of saying "hello". I tried returning the greeting but that seemed to make the big black man angry. So I won't do that next time.

After about twenty minutes of strolling through the Bronx, we saw our workplace. We found an entrance and another nice, big African-American with a gun asked us where we'd like to go. Since he also wore a uniform I replied that we were seeking the head of osteopathic medicine. He had no clue who that was. We scratched our heads for a bit, then turned around and had a look around the premises. And sure enough, we found a sign that said "Braker Building". Vaguely remembering that this was where we were told to go on Monday, we entered, asked the receptionist and were standing in front of the door we were looking for soon thereafter. There was no answer to our knocking, so we left.

On our way back to the subway, we passed a Bronx-style church. We then made our way through the densely-populated little streets back out to a bigger road with a subway station.
